Boston Bruins: Tim Thomas
Vancouver Canucks: Roberto Luongo

The 2011 Stanley Cup Finals will be the championship series of the National Hockey League (NHL) 2010–11 season, and the culmination of the 2011 Stanley Cup playoffs. This will be the 118th year of the Stanley Cup's presentation. The Eastern Conference Champion Boston Bruins will play the Western Conference Champion Vancouver Canucks - it is the first ever postseason meeting between the two teams.

This year's Stanley Cup Finals will end one of the league's longest Cup droughts. The Vancouver Canucks, who entered the league in 1970, have never won the Stanley Cup. The Boston Bruins last won the Cup in 1972.

The Canucks will have home ice advantage in the Finals by virtue of winning the Presidents' Trophy as the team that finished with the best regular season record (117 points). The first game will be held on June 1, while the seventh game (if necessary) is scheduled for June 15.

Game 7: May 28th 8:00pm Eastern @ VAN

Eastern Conference Starting Goalies:
Vancouver Canucks: Roberto Luongo
San Jose Sharks: Antti Niemi

The 2011 Western Conference Finals should be an intense series between the #1 and #2 seeds in the conference. Vancouver is currently being led by center Ryan Kesler who is playing the best hockey of his career right now. Henrik and Daniel Sedin have struggled recently and will need to improve their play if the Canucks expect to win this series. Roberto Luongo looks to get some revenge against Sharks goalie Antti Niemi, who beat him during the 2nd round of the playoffs last season with Chicago. San Jose has plenty of talented forwards who can score goals, but it will be up to the Sharks defense to shut down Kesler and the Sedin brothers if SJ wants to make it to the Stanley Cup Finals.

Vancouver Canucks vs. San Jose Sharks Series Schedule:
Game 1: May 15 8:00pm EDT @VAN
Game 2: May 18 9:00pm EDT @VAN
Game 3: May 20 9:00pm EDT @SAN
Game 4: May 22 3:00pm EDT @SAN
Game 5: May 24 9:00pm EDT @VAN
Game 6: May 26 9:00pm EDT @SAN
Game 7: May 28 8:00pm EDT @VAN

This should be a great series between Vancouver and San Jose. The Canucks will look to their solid core of defensemen and star goalie Roberto Luongo to shut down the talented Sharks forwards. Ryan Kesler has been incredible in these playoffs thus far and will need to continue to dominate at both ends of the ice. Daniel and Henrik Sedin have been relatively quiet this post season and will need to have a bounce back series if the Canucks expect to advance to the Stanley Cup Finals.

The Canucks are members of the Northwest Division of the Western Conference. They play their home games at Rogers Arena, (formerly General Motors Place) which has a capacity of 18,860. In its NHL history, the team has advanced twice to the Stanley Cup Finals but lost both times (to the New York Islanders in 1982 and the New York Rangers in 1994). The Canucks have won one Presidents' Trophy in their franchise history, for the 2010–11 NHL season.
